Home invasions occurs every day in the United States. According to the Department of Justice, an estimated 3.7 million burglaries occur every year. This course will discuss having a plan.
If you own a firearm for home defense. Training and preparation can make the difference between life and death. This course will discuss legal rights, deference and de-escalation techniques, and will include live-fire techniques on the range. In this course we will discuss hostile encounters and techniques to keep your mind and body in the fight. We will teach you to quickly assess the details of your situation. Most of all we will test your judgment and decision-making process under realistic stress. The focus is to shift your mindset and build the confidence you need for you, your family, and loved ones to survive a home invasion.
Our home invasion defense clinic continues to offer a variety of moving and shooting drills and will incorporate the use of flashlights and low light encounters. We cover drawing, moving, and shooting from CQB positions and positions of cover. We will also incorporate clearing malfunctions on the move and introduce new shooting scenarios that will force the shooter to use critical thinking skills while moving and shooting.
Lastly, we introduce a variety of shoot and no shoot drills that force the student to properly identify the potential threat prior to pulling the trigger.
Required equipment: Reliable firearm (that you are familiar with), holster and sturdy belt, at least two (2) magazines, 200 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection and flashlight. A gun mounted light is acceptable at the approval of the instructor.
The following equipment is mandatory to participate in this class.
Required prerequisites: Previous shooting experience and a firm understanding of loading, unloading, clearing malfunctions, shooting fundamentals, and firearm safety.
